Braman Motorcars and Palm Beach Zoo Partner to Save Critically Endangered Malayan Tigers

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla October 7, 2019, . – Braman Motorcars Palm Beach and Jupiter continued its support of the Palm Beach Zoo’s Malayan tiger project with a $25,000 sponsorship.

“Malayan tigers are critically endangered and our role at the Zoo is to safeguard their existence for future generations to experience these rare big cats at the Palm Beach Zoo as well as protecting them in the wilds of Malaysia,” said Margo McKnight, president and CEO of Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society. “We welcome Braman Motorcars’ ongoing support for our Malayan tigers, Api, Berisi and Kadar, who are ambassadors for their species.”

"The partnership is a natural fit,” said Braman Motorcars General Manager, Stephen Grossman. “Conservation is something that requires communication and teamwork; two of Braman Motorcars core values. We are proud of our continued commitment to help the Zoo secure a future for these magnificent and endangered Malayan tigers.”

Palm Beach Zoo is a recognized leader in the Species Survival Plan® breeding program for Malayan tigers. The Zoo, along with other accredited non‐profit conservation institutions, plays an important role in saving this species and thousands of other endangered animals. It relies on daily visitors, private donors, grants and corporate sponsorships, like the one from Braman Motorcars, to continue these efforts. The Zoo’s Henry & Charlotte Kimelman Tiger River habitat was expanded in 2014 with the help of a multi‐year sponsorship by Braman Motorcars. It is one of most popular habitat destinations for the Zoo’s more than 360,000 annual visitors.

“Our members enjoy visiting the Zoo, and they understand the importance of continuing its conservation efforts,” said Grossman. “We are honored to host Club Braman members at several Zoo events throughout the year.”

Malayan tigers are found in the Malay Peninsula in southeast Asia and in the southern tip of Thailand, where poaching and loss of natural habitat have caused the dramatic decrease in their numbers. There are estimated to be only 250 – 300 remaining in the wild.
