WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Palm Beach Zoo is announcing the following kid-friendly/special events and promotions for March 2017: 

“Science in Support of Everglades Restoration” by Dr. Nicholas ‘Nick’ Aumen: Thursday, March 2nd, 6:00p-8:00p –You’re invited to our award-winning Conservation Leadership Lecture event sponsored by Bank of America! The intriguing evening includes a cocktail hour featuring animal encounters and passed hors d'oeuvres. How do we save a natural wonder? We'll journey through 'Science in Support of Everglades Restoration' with Dr. Nicholas 'Nick' Aumen. Doors open at 6 p.m. Please purchase tickets in advance. 

Zoo Clues: Family Overnight: Saturday March 18, 6:30p-8:30a

Join us for 'ZOO CLUES' on Saturday, March 18 at 6:30p! Someone's been causing mischief at the zoo - help solve the mystery! Highlights = up-close animal encounters, detective games, crafts, and a night tour. Pizza & continental breakfast are included. Children 6+ / one adult is required per family and you must pre-register! 

Palm Beach Zoo FrogWatch Chapter: Calling all Citizen Scientists! 

Cricket frogs sound like marbles clinking together and Cuban tree frogs sound like someone walking in wet flip flops. What tricks do you use to help you remember Florida frog and toad calls?? Not all families are the same. Explore the different ways that animals live and play! Enjoy up-close animal encounters, stories, song or game, crafts, and admission to the zoo!

**3 & 4 year olds: 10:00 - 11:30 am Saturday, March 11

Stacey Konwiser Memorial Save The Tiger 5K: May 20, 7:30a – REGISTRATION IS OPEN to Run or Walk on May 20th! It's estimated that there are fewer than 250 Malayan tigers left in the wild. Proceeds from this RUN/WALK help support our partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society at Endau Rompin National Park in Malaysia to protect tigers and their habitat. The course for this run takes you directly past our Tiger River habitat! Every runner gets a tech-style, short-sleeve, polyester, running shirt available in men's and women's sizes. Register in March to beat the April $5 price increase.

Girl Scout Badge Programs are Back! 

Is your Girl Scout looking to fulfill badge requirements? Then come have a wild time at the zoo, and earn a badge too! In partnership with the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida programs are available for Daisies, Brownies, Juniors & Cadettes. Badge Workshops & Journeys may include animal encounters, behind the scenes tours, guided ground tours, crafts, themed activities, and admission to the zoo. Overnight programs include up-close animal encounters, a nocturnal tour, crafts, themed activities, pizza, and a continental breakfast. Story Time at the Zoo: A Real Page TurnerSaturday’s at 10:30a

 This popular event will take place at on Saturday’s at 10:30 a.m. at the Zoo’s Conservation Station by the Safari Train and the Wildlife Carousel. Story Time at the Zoo is geared towards encouraging children to connect with wildlife through reading, and it is included in the cost of Zoo admission. For more information visit:
