Palm Beach Zoo: April 2017 Special Events

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Palm Beach Zoo is announcing the following special events and family friendly promotions for April 2017: 

Brew at the Zoo: Saturday April 1, 5:30p-9:00p: SOLD OUT! Palm Beach Zoo will be CLOSING EARLY to prepare! Our ticket booth will close at 2:15pm and the Zoo will close at 3:00pm - meaning that all guests will have to exit at 3:00pm so that we can complete preparations for this separate event, which requires ADVANCE TICKETS. Thank you for your cooperation! VIP includes food courtesy Carrabba’s Italian Grill and the Music Main Stage is underwritten by Discover The Palm Beaches Florida.

“Roseate Spoonbills in Florida Bay: A Pink Canary in a Coal Mine” by Dr. Jerry Lorenz: Thursday, April 6, 6:00p-8:00p – You’re invited to

the final award-winning Conservation Leadership Lecture Series event of 2017 sponsored by Bank of America! The intriguing evening includes a cocktail hour featuring animal encounters and passed hors d'oeuvres. Join us as Florida Bay expert and State Research Director for Audubon Florida Dr. Jerry Lorenz takes us on a journey with one of Florida's most recognizable species, the Roseate Spoonbill. Doors open at 6 p.m. Please purchase tickets in advance. 

Breakast with the Bunny (multiple dates – April 8, 9, 15 from 8:30a -10:00a) – Register early this family friendly event will sell out! Highlights = Hot Breakfast Buffet in Our Lakeside Tropics Cafe, Up-Close Animal Encounters, Meet 'n' Greets and Photo Opportunities with the Easter Bunny, an EGG HUNT in Our Picnic Grove! Party for the Planet: Saturday April 22, 11:00a – 2:00p

Every day is Earth Day at the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society, but on April 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Zoo will showcase some of the steps guests can take that will truly make a difference for animals across the globe. Party for the Planet will be filled with educational, engaging, and fun activities for the entire family, including face painting and eco-friendly crafts. Discover more about the environment, wildlife, the Earth’s natural resources and even solar power. Activities are free with Zoo admission.

Food Truck Safari: Saturday April 22, 4:30p – 9:00p

Explore the Zoo in search of your favorite wildlife and Palm Beach County’s best gourmet food trucks.  The trucks are spread throughout the Zoo with two live music locations and two cash bars.  The Fountain Plaza Tiki Bar features a local craft brewery tap-takeover.  Check for updated truck and brewery lists.

Stacey Konwiser Memorial Save The Tiger 5K: Saturday May 20, 7:30a – REGISTRATION IS OPEN to Run or Walk on May 201th! It's estimated that there are fewer than 250 Malayan tigers left in the wild. Proceeds from this RUN/WALK help support our partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society at Endau Rompin National Park in Malaysia to protect tigers and their habitat. The course for this run takes you directly past our Tiger River habitat! Every runner gets a tech-style, short-sleeve, polyester, running shirt available in men's and women's sizes.

Toddler Workshops Are Kid-Tested and Parent Approved!

Not all families are the same. Explore the different ways that animals live and play! Enjoy up-close animal encounters, stories, song or game, crafts, and admission to the zoo!

**2 year olds: 10:00am - 11:00am / Wednesday, April 5

Girl Scout Badge Programs are Back! 

Is your Girl Scout looking to fulfill badge requirements? Then come have a wild time at the zoo, and earn a badge too! In partnership with the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida programs are available for Daisies, Brownies, Juniors & Cadettes. Badge Workshops & Journeys may include animal encounters, behind the scenes tours, guided ground tours, crafts, themed activities, and admission to the zoo. Overnight programs include up-close animal encounters, a nocturnal tour, crafts, themed activities, pizza, and a continental breakfast. Story Time at the Zoo: A Real Page Turner: Saturday’s at 10:30a

 This popular event will take place at on Saturday’s at 10:30 a.m. at the Zoo’s Conservation Station by the Safari Train and the Wildlife Carousel. Story Time at the Zoo is geared towards encouraging children to connect with wildlife through reading, and it is included in the cost of Zoo admission. For more information visit:
