WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Palm Beach Zoo is announcing the following special family events and promotions for the month of November 2016: 

Boo at the Zoo (*see various October dates below)

It's a fun, safe, not-so-scary, Halloween experience for your kids! Enjoy trick-or-treating, Costume Character Meet-N-Greets, Kids Costume Contests, Kids DJ, Pumpkin Decorating, Haystack Hunt and MORE!

Special Evening Hours Fridays & Saturdays with trick-or-treating during these times:

**Friday: 10/28 10a-4p and 5p-9p

**Saturday: 10/29 10a-4p and 5p-9p

Do at the Zoo: Annual Evening Fundraiser

Palm Beach Zoo supporters will spend a fabulous night under the stars at 'Do at the Zoo' - our EPIC annual fundraiser. The global celebration takes place on Friday, November 11, 2016, from 6:30p to 10p at the zoo. Bacardi is the official drink sponsor and attendees will dine on a moveable feast of innovative cuisines from eight of the Palm Beaches top-rated restaurants and all-star chefs, dance to music by DJ VLAD, and of course there will be appearances by the zoo’s fascinating animal ambassadors. Proceeds will benefit the zoo’s mission to inspire people to act on behalf of wildlife.

Grand Opening of Two New Exhibits & The Introduction of A New Florida Panther!

Slated to open in late November, we are excited to announce the grand opening of both Mardi the white alligator’s exhibit and Micco, our Florida panther ambassador’s exhibit - PLUS the introduction of a new female panther! Stay tuned for more details!

Education Events

Toddler Workshops: REGISTER NOW!

KID-TESTED AND PARENT APPROVED! The Palm Beach Zoo Education Department offers exciting workshops designed for children ages 2 to 4 years! Age-specific crafts and activities are designed to excite and intrigue your child. Workshops include up-close animal encounters, stories, song or game, crafts, and admission to the Zoo! Workshops for 3-4 year olds also include a snack. One adult is required to attend the program with children. Register now for the popular Land Rovers program:

  • 2 year olds: 10a-11a, Wednesday, November 9
  • 3 & 4 year olds: 10a-11:30a, Saturday, November 12

Girl Scout Badge Programs are Back!

Is your Girl Scout looking to fulfill badge requirements? Then come to the Zoo and participate in either a Badge Workshop,, an Overnight, or a Journey in a Day! In partnership with the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida programs are available for Daisies, Brownies, Juniors & Cadettes. Badge Workshops & Journeys may include animal encounters, behind the scenes tours, guided ground tours, crafts, themed activities, and admission to the Zoo. Overnights programs include up-close animal encounters, a nocturnal tour, crafts, themed activities, pizza, and a continental breakfast. All programs meet badge requirements.  Pre-registration is required for all programs. So come have a wild time at the Zoo, and earn a badge too – click the link for more info.

Panthers and PJ's Overnight at the Zoo: Saturday, December 3-4, 6:30p-8:30a

Be the FIRST to spend the night next to our NEWLY-renovated Panther Exhibit in the Florida Pioneer Home! Enjoy cookie decorating, hot cocoa, making a wildlife ornament, and create a present for a special Zoo animal! This program also features a nocturnal Zoo tour and up-close animal encounters! Pizza dinner and continental breakfast are provided! Participants must be ages 6 and up: a minimum of 1 adult per family is required. Pre-registration is required.

Story Time at the Zoo: A Real Page Turner: Saturday’s at 10:30a

  • November 5: Allie Gator and the Mixed Up Scarecrow by Heather Alexander
  • November 12: Clark the Shark: Lost and Found by Bruce Hale
  • November 19: How I Became a Pirate by Melinda Long
  • November 26: Here is the African Savanna by Madeleine Dunphy

This popular event will take place at on Saturday’s at 10:30 a.m. at the Zoo’s Conservation Station by the Safari Train and the Wildlife Carousel. Story Time at the Zoo is geared towards encouraging children to connect with wildlife through reading, and it is included in the cost of Zoo admission. For more information visit:
