Palm Beach Zoo Education Specialists brought holiday joy to The Arc of Palm Beach County, with special visits from animals in the Ed Morse ZooMobile! By bringing animals like a parrot, a red-footed tortoise and a two-toed sloth, the Zoo hopes to give children and adults with development disabilities a connection to wildlife.
Dr. Tiffany North, Director of Children and Family Services at The Arc of Palm Beach County, explained why the visit from the ZooMobile is particularly important to the students at Potentials Charter School. “For many of our families, it is so difficult to transport their children along with their mobility and medical equipment that family outings to the zoo are nearly impossible,” said Dr. North, adding, “The opportunity for our students to have this experience is priceless, and we are incredibly grateful that the Palm Beach Zoo has generously agreed to do this for us.”
A special surprise visit from Santa and Rudolph ended the educational experience!
