Palm Beach Zoo: December Special Events

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Palm Beach Zoo is announcing the following special events and promotions for the month of December 2016: 

Breakfast with Santa (3 available seatings)

It's a holiday tradition at Palm Beach Zoo that sells out every year, so make your reservation today! Highlights include a hot breakfast buffet, up-close animal encounters, photo opportunities with Santa & Mrs. Claus - PLUS - crafts, and complimentary rides on the Wildlife Carousel.

This year's seatings are:

  • Saturday, December 17th - 8:30am
  • Sunday, December 18th - 8:30am
  • Saturday, December 24th - 8:30am

Fourth Annual Noon Year’s Eve Celebration: Saturday, December 31, 11:00a-1:00p

Ring in the New Year like never before...with your furry, feathered, and scaly friends at the Palm Beach Zoo! Join us for our children's dance party in the Fountain Plaza where they can get their face painted and join us leading up to 12 noon as we celebrate the New Year with an apple juice toast and "alligator ball" drop fit for children of all ages! This event is included with normal zoo admission.

Education Events

Panthers and PJ's Overnight at the Zoo: Saturday, December 3-4, 6:30p-8:30a

Be the FIRST to spend the night next to our NEWLY-renovated Panther Exhibit in the Florida Pioneer Home! Enjoy cookie decorating, hot cocoa, making a wildlife ornament, and create a present for a special Zoo animal! This program also features a nocturnal Zoo tour and up-close animal encounters! Pizza dinner and continental breakfast are provided! Participants must be ages 6 and up: a minimum of 1 adult per family is required. Pre-registration is required. palmbeachzoo.org/family-overnights

Toddler Workshops Are Kid-Tested and Parent Approved: REGISTER NOW!

The Palm Beach Zoo Education Department offers exciting workshops designed for children ages 2 to 4 years! Age-specific crafts and activities are designed to excite and intrigue your child. Workshops include up-close animal encounters, stories, song or game, crafts, and admission to the Zoo! Workshops for 3-4 year olds also include a snack. One adult is required to attend the program with children. Register now for the popular Backyard Buddies program:

  • 2 year olds: 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 7
  • 3 & 4 year olds: 10:00-11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 10

Girl Scout Badge Programs are Back!

Is your Girl Scout looking to fulfill badge requirements? Then come have a wild time at the zoo, and earn a badge too! In partnership with the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida programs are available for Daisies, Brownies, Juniors & Cadettes. Badge Workshops & Journeys may include animal encounters, behind the scenes tours, guided ground tours, crafts, themed activities, and admission to the zoo. Overnight programs include up-close animal encounters, a nocturnal tour, crafts, themed activities, pizza, and a continental breakfast.   • Animal Art: Unique works of arts created by our resident “animal artists,” with a little help from their zookeepers. Each painting is wrapped in a plastic sleeve with a photo of the animal artist enclosed. Story Time at the Zoo: A Real Page Turner: Saturday’s at 10:30a

This popular event will take place at on Saturday’s at 10:30 a.m. at the Zoo’s Conservation Station by the Safari Train and the Wildlife Carousel.
