Zoo Patrons Head South of the Border to “Do at the Zoo” Fundraiser

April 2, 2013

Palm Beach Zoo supporters will be heading South of the Border on Friday, May 10th for the Palm Beach Zoo’s annual spring “Do at the Zoo” fundraiser. This fiesta casual affair takes place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Zoo.

All proceeds from “Do at the Zoo” will help the zoo advance its mission to protect wildlife and wildlife habitat and to inspire others to value and conserve the natural world.  The Palm Beach Zoo is home to more than 1,400 animals and is nationally accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

The evening will feature a delicious array of south-of-the-border-themed finger foods provided by area restaurants including: Cha Cha’s, Echo, Imoto, Leopard Lounge, Malcolm’s: The Art of Food, Palm Beach Zoo’s Tropics Café, PB Catch, PDQ, Rooney’s Public House and Table 26.  Not to be missed will be the opportunity for behind-the scenes tours of the bear, jaguar and bush dog habitats. Guests can dance under the stars in the Zoo’s beautiful Mayan Plaza area to music by celebrity DJ Adam Lipson.

BACARDI, USA, Inc. is the exclusive cocktail sponsor and will provide fully staffed bars with professional bartenders and servers who come all the way from Miami to serve hand mixed Bacardi cocktails. The evening will highlight a CAZADORES TEQUILIA ZOORITA, a specialty cocktail created by Bacardi specifically for the event.

Mary Baker and Susanna Hager are honorary chairs. Whitney Bylin, Thomas C. Quick and Ashley Ramos serve as Event Committee Chairmen. The Host Committee includes Debbie Dunkin, Lourdes Fanjul, April Finch, Mary Freitas, Candy Hamm, Michele Kessler, Patrick Killian, Emily Mateer, Lauriston V.
