December 23, 2013

The Palm Beach Zoo invites families and children of all ages to start 2014 a bit early, and ring in the New Year with the Zoo’s animal friends on December 31, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The midday celebration will include a wild dance party in the Fountain Plaza, complete with an apple juice toast at noon, face painting, games, crafts and much more! Guests can also pick up a party hat and noise maker, while they last.

“Zoo Year’s Eve” features a special New Year’s Eve countdown to the 12 p.m. apple juice toast, which will allow little ones to be able to enjoy the festivities of the holiday, but still get home for bed. Help the animals at the Palm Beach Zoo send 2013 off with style, and join us to celebrate “Auld Lang Syne!”

The party continues on New Year’s Day, with birthday bashes for Lewis and Clark, the Zoo’s North American black bear brothers, who will be celebrating their 13th birthdays, as well as Micco, the Zoo’s Florida panther ambassador, who will be turning two years old. The animals will receive special enrichment in the form of birthday presents that will be sure to delight spectators. The bears will receive their presents at the Black Bear Training at 12:30 p.m., and Micco will receive his presents during the Panther Talk & Training Session at 2:30 p.m.
