|Whether you're running to beat your personal best or walking as a family, this is a great way to enhance your Zoo experience! The first 500 runners registered get this free t-shirt.||
Registration is now open for the 1st annual Save The Jaguar 5k, Presented by Sagicor. The first 500 runners registered will get a free t-shirt and every runner gets all day Zoo admission included. The run is September 5th, but register early because the price goes up on 8/11/15.
Did you know that jaguars used to roam the southwestern United States, but no longer. The Palm Beach Zoo supports conservation efforts in South & Central America where jaguars still live, but are threatened due to habitat loss among other issues. BTW, the purchase of sustainably produced coffee and chocolate from the jaguar’s range can help reduce the threat to their survival.
This run starts in the Zoo parking lot then winds through Dreher Park, entering the Zoo on the west side. You’ll run past the new Tiger River habitat, wallaby viewing station, fennec fox exhibit, ocelots, siamang island and more on your way to the finish line in the Interactive Fountain where you’re welcome to cool off in its waters.
Your race registration also includes your free Zoo admission for 9/19/15 and half-off discount coupons for friends and family that would like to see you cross the finish line and enjoy the day at the Zoo.

Race Day Information
If you got your bib at a packet pickup you don't need to check in. We will have extra bib pins near check-in, if needed.
If you're registered but didn't pick up your packet, stop by the Race Day Check-In table between 6 and 7am to get your packet.
If you're not registered please visit the Race Day Registration table between 6 and 7am to register and sign your waiver.
There will be port-o-lets in the SW corner of the main Zoo parking lot for pre-race needs. At the finish, runners and observers are asked to use the Tropics Cafe restrooms. Please do not cross into roped-off paths as we will have zookeepers working to prepare the Zoo for the regular 9am opening.
MaxHealth Chiropractic will lead a warm-up routine shortly after 7am.
The Starting Gun is at 7:30am. This is a "net time" race...your bib chip starts your clock as you cross the starting line.
Friends & Family will be admitted to the Fountain Plaza area starting at 7:35am to see the finish line. The rest of the Zoo will open at it's usual 9am time.
We estimate the awards ceremony will begin around 8:30am in the Fountain Plaza, followed by random bib number prize drawings.
Your bib is your Zoo admission for the whole day. You may leave after the race and come back later in the day to enjoy the Zoo. Please bring your bib with you and check in at the admission gate.
Friends and family using the 1/2 price coupons may also leave and return during the day as long as they have their receipt.
This is a chip-timed, USATF sacntioned run. No strollers, rollerblades, skateboards, bicycles, pets, etc. will be permitted. Event occurs rain or shine, no refunds.
