The book read during Story Time at the Zoo at 10:30 a.m. on January 24th, will be “Diary of a Wombat” by Jackie French. The event will take place at the Zoo’s Conservation Station by the Safari Train and the Wildlife Carousel. Story Time at the Zoo is an event geared towards encouraging children to connect with wildlife through reading. Story Time will be included in the cost of Zoo admission. Books are thoughtfully chosen with an emphasis on animals, as part of the Zoo’s mission of inspiring people to act on behalf of wildlife. A.J. Dasher, visitor services supervisor for the Zoo, will read to children during Story Time at the Zoo.

Take home farm-fresh Florida produce from the Zoo’s Produce Stand. Visitors can browse a wonderful selection of fresh, locally-grown produce and other sustainably-harvested items directly outside of the Zoo’s exit gate, and learn about how buying local produce protects wildlife. The produce stand will remain open until 5 p.m. so all Zoo-goers have a chance to shop before they head home for the evening.

New Year's Day: Birthday Bash Extravaganza / More Info >>

You'll want to start the New Year off right so don't miss the birthday bashes for Lewis & Clark, the Zoo’s North American black bear brothers, who will be celebrating their 14th birthdays, as well as Micco, the Zoo’s Florida panther ambassador, who will be turning three years old and Hugo, the spider monkey as he turns two years of age. The four birthday boys will each receive their very own birthday enrichments lovingly made for them by their dedicated keepers. All children in attendance can enjoy complimentary face painting and eco-crafts as part of the day's festivities (included with normal zoo admission). Special Birthday Enrichment Schedule: Lewis & Clark the American Black Bears will receive their presents at the Black Bear Training at 12:30 p.m., Micco, the Florida Panther Ambassador will receive his presents during the Panther Talk & Training Session at 2:30 p.m. and Hugo the Spider Monkey will receive his birthday enrichment at 1:30 p.m.

Ring in the New Year like never before...with your furry, feathered, and scaly friends at the Palm Beach Zoo! Join us for our children's dance party in the Fountain Plaza where they can get their face painted and make their very own noise maker and party hat. Just make sure to join us in the Fountain Plaza leading up to 12 noon as we celebrate the New Year with an apple juice toast and "ball" drop fit for children of all ages! This event is included with normal zoo admission.
