Distance Learning

Visit the zoo without leaving your classroom!  Through videoconference technology, students at schools, libraries, and other venues can participate in a fully-interactive zoo class, complete with live animal ambassadors.

Technology information:  Participants will need access to two-way audio/video videoconference equipment.  The zoo broadcasts distance learning classes over IP (internet protocol) at H.323 standard.  We recommend a minimum connection speed of 384 kbps.  To find out if your school has compatible technology, check with your school’s media specialist or technology coordinator.

For a complete listing of our distance learning programs and to reserve your program, please visit the Center for Interactive Learning & Collaboration www.cilc.org, select Content Provider Programs and find the Palm Beach Zoo in the Content Providers section. There you will find a complete list of our programs and information on how to register for a virtual field trip. Please note that you must have video conferencing equipment at your school in order to participate. Please call us at (561) 533-0887 ext. 229 for more information.
