Vinaceous Amazon

Amazona Vinacea
As with other amazons, this species is an elegant shade of green with a grey breast and a defining red patch on the face.
They are native to Central America through South America.
This arboreal species has zygodactyl feet, which means two toes face forward and two toes face backward which help it climb.
This species was listed by the IUCN as endangered since 1994 but more recent surveys have classified them as vulnerable because the global population may be larger then once estimated.
