Sacred Ibis

Threskiornis Aethiopicus
The Sacred ibis is a white bird with black tail feathers, a bald scaly black head, and a long black curved beak.
They are native to sub-Saharan Africa, but have been introduced to parts of Europe, Australia, and even here in southern Florida.
They feed on fish, frogs, insects, crustaceans, and small birds.
They are communal nesters, building nests of twigs and sticks high up in large trees to lay a clutch of 2-3 eggs.
The sacred ibis is often associated with Thoth, the ibis-headed Egyptian god of wisdom, science, and magic.
