Ring-tailed Lemur

Ring-tailed Lemur
Lemur Catta
This species can be easily identified by its silvery gray body and white breast with a black banded tail.
Lemur means "ghost" in Malagasy, the native language of Madagascar the fourth largest island in the world.
Ring-tailed lemurs live in large multi-male and multi-female troops that number anywhere between 12-24 individuals.
They have a grooming comb in their lower jaw that is formed by the six fused incisors.
All species of lemur are considered endangered because of the explosive population and deforestation of Madagascar.
