Rhinoceros Iguana
- Cyclura Cornuta Cornuta
- This massive bodied relative of the green iguana is much less showy with its color and markings exhibiting a brown-grey body color.
- They feed mainly on leafy vegetation, flowers, and fruit.
- This species is native to only the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, but it has been introduced to other tropical islands and is quite common in captivity.
- It gets its name from the fleshy "horns" that grow at the tip of the nose.
- Habitat destruction and hunting for food and the pet trade are the rhinoceros iguana's biggest threats.
