Red-throated Parrot Finch

- This green finch has a characteristic red throat and large black beak for crushing seeds and small nuts.
- They are native to New Caledonia where they can be found living in bushes scattered throughout largely open areas.
- Sexually mature at about 4 months, these birds breed year round laying 4-6 eggs per clutch.
