Puerto Rican Boa
- Epicrates Inornatus
- This darkly blotched snake reaches a maximum of about 6 1/2 feet.
- Being a constrictor, the Puerto Rican boa feeds primarily on birds, small mammals, and lizards.
- After nourishing the offspring through a primitive placental attachment, mothers give live birth to 25-30 offspring once a year.
- They are native only to Puerto Rico and even though population status is unknown they should be considered threatened.
