Pallas' Long-tongued Bat

Glossophaga Soricina
Being a nocturnal species, long-tongued bats are active foragers of flowers during the evening hours retreating to caves once daylight hits.
The fleshy leaf-shaped disk on the nose of this bat species is used for echolocation to navigate the forests in dark conditions.
They are native to Central and South America as well as islands of the West Indies.
There are two different foraging mechanisms of this species, one in which an animal will defend its territory and the other of which it moves along from flower to flower in a typical line order.
