Jamaican fruit-eating bat
- Artibeus jamaicensis
- The Jamaican fruit-eating bat is found from central Mexico to Bolivia and central Brazil throughout the Greater and Lesser Antilles.
- They live in moist open areas, buildings and caves. They construct tents made from the leaves of plants.
- Jamaican fruit-eating bats have white stripes on their faces, pointed ears, and soft, short brownish, grayish, or blackish color fur, with a lighter underside.
- Groups of adult female Jamaican fruit-eating bats are never found with more than one adult male.
- They feed on fruit, nectar, pollen, flower parts, and insects.
