Green Iguana

Iguana Iguana
They vary in color from green or brown to vibrant orange in large adult males.
Courtship behaviors of males include head-bobbing, extension and retraction of their large dewlap, and biting the nape of females.
They feed mainly on leaves and fruit but they occasionally consume carrion and insects.
They are important to the forest ecosystem because they disperse seeds for many trees and plants; they are also a food source for larger predators.
Native to South and Central America, many feral populations have been introduced in the United States, particularly southern Florida.
