Eurasian Eagle Owl*
- Bubo Bubo Hispanus
- This is the largest owl species in the world with females noticeably larger then males.
- They reside in river valleys, open forests, taiga, steppes, and semi deserts of Europe and northern Asia.
- Owls are expert nocturnal hunters because they have excellent low-light vision and asymmetrical ears that help them localize sounds made by prey.
- They have been successfully reintroduced to areas of Europe where they were previously extirpated after suitable habitat was restored.
