- This moderate sized box turtle has a pale yellow head and dark carapace with a yellow ridge running along the center.
- Being a forest dwelling species, the Chinese box turtle usually inhabits lowlands and river valleys of southern China and Southeast Asia.
- They feed on an omnivorous diet including leafy greens and flowers as well as fish, insects, and worms.
- The biggest threat to this species is harvest for food and the pet trade.
