Central American Banded Gecko*

Coleonyx Mitratus
These small geckos range in size from 4-6 inches.
Being a terrestrial species, they inhabit dry rocky areas where they live beneath flat rocks and in crevices.
They feed on small insects such as termites, crickets, and spiders during the early hours of the night.
When attacked by predators, they can detach their tail to distract the predator allowing them time to escape; a new tail grows back after 4-5 weeks.
