Bali Mynah
- Leucopsar Rothschildi
- Recognizable by its vibrant white color, the Bali mynah has black tipped wings and stands about 6-10 inches tall.
- The Bali mynah is one of the rarest birds in the world and is listed by the IUCN as critically endangered, numbering as little as 25 wild individuals in 1998.
- They are native only to the Indonesian island of Bali where their habitat of dry monsoon forests has been reduced to little more then 10 percent of their historic range.
- These beautiful birds are managed by a Species Survival Plan (SSP) whose goal is to maintain genetic variation; with over 800 birds managed globally, captive birds greatly outnumber their wild relatives.
